
Fred King, Gas City, Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 4, 2015. Fred was born on May 8, 1941 to Arvil and Auda (Carter) King in Livingston, Tennessee. He married Alice (Skehan) King on June 4, 1982.
He worked for Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson, Indiana, for three years, Moore Brothers Hardwood Floor Service for four years, retiring from Thomson Consumer Electronics in 1988 after 22 years of service.
In his younger years, Fred enjoyed playing pool, fishing, bowling, and hunting. When he gave his life to Christ, he loved going to church and spending time with his Christian friends. Fred loved children and mostly spending time with his own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, of 33 years; step-daughter, Melanie (Scott) Pokorny, Hartford City; step-son Brian (Angela) Skehan, Norfolk, Virginia; grandchildren, Tristin (Joe) Brown, Ponca City, Oklahoma, Morgan (Jerry) Sparks, Alexandria, Indiana, and Mosi Skehan, Norfolk, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Oliver Sparks and Chloe Brown; siblings, Bonita King, Anderson, Indiana, Gene (Mary) King, Anderson, Indiana, and Larry (Linda) King, Anderson, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvil and Auda King; and brothers, Arlin King and Cleston King.
Services will be held at Liberty Baptist Church, 517 Church Street, Sweetser, Indiana, with Pastor Terry Bishir officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 until 4:00, and from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015, and again from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Gas City, Indiana. Arrangements by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.
